A little about Gideon S. Fields

Gideon S. Fields is a new and upcoming author of the series, "The Stones of Minderland," with the first installment called "Wielder and Stone."

He lives in California where he maintains a full-time job (apart from writing).  

​

In his spare time, he enjoys reading, hiking, RPG's (role playing games) -video and tabletop, traveling, meeting new people, and absolutely loves thrift stores.

​

When asked about his new book and what he thought about his writing, he had this to say:

​

"I love learning more and more about my characters as I write.  For me it is like watching a movie.  I don't feel like I am creatively writing.  It feels more like I am chronicling the lives of people I have come to know and understand.  A very strange and pleasurable experience.

However, I am writing, and creating.  Through this process, I have learned creating a whole new world carries with it a grave responsibility to those characters that I write about.  They are more than just words to me.  They exist in my minds eye.  They have opinions, desires, wants and needs just like the rest of us.  And knowing that someday someone will pick up my book and read it is a truly humbling notion indeed.

The Stones of Minderland is truly my own little passion project, gaining more and more traction each day.

I have to offer a few thanks here as well.  Thank you to all that have helped in the developing process.  Specifically, I would love to mention my mother for creating the very first Amulet Rherting (worn by the followers of The Keepers of Wielder and Stone), My dad for helping me edit the first versions of the book (before I obtained an editor), , My buddy Hoss for helping me develop the game "Wielder and Stone," and finally Sarah.  Ah Sarah, where would I be without your constant enthusiasm and feedback."
